Compulsory Screening and Vaccination Programmes for High Occupational Risk Students |
Compulsory Tuberculin Skin Test/BCG Vaccination Screening All new Bachelor of Chinese Medicine, Dental, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Speech & Hearing Sciences and Social Work students are required to bring along the completed Tuberculin Skin Test and BCG Vaccination Questionnaire to the Test/Screening Session. Those with negative or unknown past history of BCG Vaccination will have Tuberculin Skin Test accordingly. After the Skin Test, you need to come back for the result 3 days later. Those with negative response will be given BCG vaccination. Hepatitis B Vaccination All new Bachelor of Chinese Medicine, Dental, Medical, Nursing and Speech & Hearing Sciences undergraduate students are strongly recommended to protect themselves against Hepatitis B. You are required to bring along the completed Hepatitis B Questionnaire and should come for the Health Orientation Talk and Hepatitis B blood test on August 21, 2015. You must also come back for the Hepatitis B result on August 27, 2015. Those with negative response will be given Hepatitis B vaccination. Chickenpox Vaccination All new Bachelor of Chinese Medicine, Medical and Nursing students are required to bring along the completed Chickenpox Questionnaires. Those with negative or unknown past history of chickenpox will have blood test for chickenpox immunity on August 21, 2015. Arrangement will be made for those who are negative for chickenpox antibody to receive 2 doses of vaccination. Schedule for the compulsory screening and vaccination programmes You are required to attend the Health Orientation Talks at Theatre 6, 1/F, Meng Wah Complex (Aug 18) or Theatre 2, G/F, Meng Wah Complex (Aug 21 and 27), according to the following timetable. Please bring with you the completed Tuberculin Skin Test Questionnaire, Hepatitis B Questionnaire and Chickenpox Questionnaire if applicable.
Group A Students Special Arrangement Student who could not attend on August 18, 2015 MUST come to T2, G/F, Meng Wah Complex, HKU on September 5, 2015 at 9:00 am with the letter stating the reason for not attending. Special arrangement would be made for them. Student who attended on August 21, 2015 but could not attend the result reading session on August 27, 2015, please come to T2, G/F, Meng Wah Complex, HKU on September 12, 2015 at 9:00 am with the letter stating the reason for not attending.
