CEDARS administers the following funds: The First-in-the-Family Education Fund (FIFE Fund) supports full-degree full-time local undergraduate students who are the first generation of university students from low income families and admitted to HKU after 2008 to take part in different learning activities outside the classroom. HKU 81 Inclusion Fund and Henry Chan Inclusive Education Fund provide funding for projects which promotes social inclusion and understanding of people with a disability. Moreover, Henry Chan Inclusive Education Award is given to students with a disability who have excellent academic and extra-curricular performances, whereas Henry Chan Inclusive Education Grants supports ethnic minority students and students with a disability or special learning needs to procure learning aids, equipment and services to facilitate their learning. The HKU SERVICE 100 Fund aims to promote the service spirit of the HKU community and encourage students to engage in action to address a concern of the community or global problem that confronts all humankind. Local and overseas service projects led by students that adopt a service learning approach are eligible. HKU '82 Alumni Green Fund supports student projects which engage the public on issues related to global warming. Preference will be given to projects targeting at primary and /or secondary school students. |
