After having accepted the University’s offer of admission and paid the required deposit on first admission to a curriculum of study, a student is required to register with the University. You should:
(a)

use the login details provided via email to gain access to the HKU Portal (http://www.hku.hk/portal) and complete the online registration (HKU Portal → Self Service → Master Registration) as soon as possible;

submit your photograph and identity document online for the production of your Student Registration Card after completion of online Master Registration (HKU Portal → SIS Menu → Self Services → Student Card Document Upload);

For non-local students and students using a visa to study in Hong Kong (e.g. student visa, IANG visa, dependent visa, full-time employment visa, visa for Quality Migrant Admission Scheme, and visa for Capital Investment Entrant Scheme, etc.), you are required to upload your visa, landing slip, and input the visa expiry date after you have arrived in Hong Kong (HKU Portal → SIS Menu → Self Services → Compulsory Upload of Visa Docs); and

(d) |
come to collect your Student Registration Card in person according to the specific date(s), time and venue mentioned in the Student Registration Card collection email, which will be sent to your HKU Portal email account from late August, you may also view the email via HKU Portal → SIS Menu → Self Services → Collection of Card (1st Year). Please remember to bring along the documents mentioned in the email for verification of your identity. |
Students are required to complete the online registration procedures mentioned above as soon as possible so as to facilitate collection of the Student Registration Card and/or any application(s) for admission to residential halls or other study facilities.
For students mentioned in (c), please note that your student status at the University will only be confirmed after you have submitted the required visa documents to the University for verification. Students will be suspended from using University services and facilities, and Student Registration Card will not be issued if you do not submit the required documents following the steps mentioned above.
