The Accommodation Committee commissioned a Working Group to review the provision of student lockers on campus in a smarter and more innovative way to cater for the versatile needs of students. It endorsed that as the first phase of the project, around 800 e-lockers for temporary storage will be installed in strategic locations of the Main Campus and the Centennial Campus in September 2019, while around 2,000 existing lockers will still be maintained for students’ application for use of one academic year. Students are required to pay a nominal fee for usage of both e-lockers and traditional type of lockers. The fees paid by students will be used to subsidize the daily operation, maintenance and cleaning of both types of lockers. Students will be invited via bulk email to apply for the traditional type of lockers by a central application system to be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. Detailed information on application and usage of e-lockers and traditional lockers will be available at the website of the Academic Support and Examinations Section at http://www.ase.hku.hk.
