The largest amount of financial assistance is provided by the Government Tertiary Student Finance Scheme for Publicly-funded Programme (TSFS) which is a means-tested grant and loan scheme administered by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA). If you need financial assistance for your studies at the University, you are strongly encouraged to apply for TSFS. A Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Full-time Tertiary Students (NLSFT) is also available for application by students who do not want to rely on family support or who have difficulty in applying for the means-tested TSFS Scheme. The relevant application forms can be downloaded from the SFAA website at http://www.sfaa.gov.hk. CEDARS has also prepared an information sheet on TSFS which is enclosed in the registration folder. The deadline for application for TSFS for HKU students is September 18, 2013. Please check with CEDARS nearer the time.
