The University administers a multitude of scholarships and prizes which are primarily merit-based. Further information can be found on the HKU Scholarships website (http://www.scholarships.hku.hk). For scholarships which accept open applications, calls will be made through bulk emails either by the Scholarships Office or the relevant Faculty/Department. The Scholarships Office will help publicise internal and external schemes on the HKU Scholarships website (under “Apply for Scholarship”). Students are advised to visit the website periodically for the latest news, application procedures and backgrounds. Some scholarships are awarded based on nominations by Faculties/Departments, and so students do not need to apply.
