Applications for admission to Residential Halls (and to Residential Colleges in Jockey Club Student Village III) should be submitted via HKU Portal, the University's online information system. Once you have completed your online registration, you can access the HKU Portal. Once you are logged in, please read the General Information and Instructions carefully (ase.hku.hk/) before proceeding to fill in the application form. The online system starts to accept applications from students newly admitted into a study programme from 10:00 a.m. on August 9, 2019 and closes at 9:59 a.m. on August 13, 2019. Students are strongly advised to apply and submit their applications as early as possible during the application period concerned in order to avoid a major system overload near the application deadlines which may lead to delay or even rejection of the application.

Interviews will be conducted during August 13 to August 15, 2019. Applicants invited for interview will be notified by the respective hall(s).

You should personally note these details and present yourself for interview if required at the time and place specified. It is your responsibility to follow the application procedures and to note the important dates of the admission exercise. Students who are admitted to the University after August 13, 2019 can make their applications online during the period from August 14 to August 31, 2019 via the HKU Portal.

The results of applications will be available on the CEDARS website at cedars.hku.hk on August 19, 2019 by 4:00 p.m. Applicants to residential hall/college are encouraged to visit the website for up-to-date hall/college admission information.

It is important for you to check the results on that date and, if your application is successful, indicate acceptance of offer through the online system.  If you fail to do so by the specified deadline, the offer will be regarded as having been declined and therefore withdrawn with immediate effect.
