The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) administers the following funds:

The First-in-the-Family Education Fund (FIFE Fund) supports full-degree full-time local undergraduate students who are first generation university students admitted to HKU after 2008 to take part in different learning activities outside the classroom. Please visit fife.hku.hk for details.

Henry Chan Inclusive Education Award is given to students with a disability who have excellent academic or extra-curricular performances, whereas Henry Chan Inclusive Education Grant for Students with a Disability or Special Educational Needs supports them to procure learning aids, equipment and services to facilitate their learning.

The Chui’s Student Excellence Scheme supports outstanding HKU full-time students to engage in prestigious conferences and symposia, join esteemed competitions; and those with a proven record in services and service learning to initiate and lead such projects to improve human condition.

SERVICE 100 Fund supports non-credit bearing student-initiated projects in or outside of Hong Kong which adopt a service learning approach.  The projects should be organised or led by HKU students or student bodies, and show sustainability in the long run.

Yang Tuck Ming & Wong Fung Ying Service Learning Fund supports local Hong Kong students to partake non-credit bearing service learning in Hong Kong or abroad (excluding mainland) so as to promote the service spirit of the HKU community and students’ engagement in addressing a concern of the community or global problem that confronts all mankind.

Grants to Student Societies is available to bona-fide student societies of the HKUSU or the Postgraduate Student Association (PGSA). Awards are made as token subsidies to encourage societies to organise activities of various kinds, including exhibitions, workshops, competitions, performance and community services.
